Kids of all ages (up to 14 years old) are invited to make an appointment to read to a certified therapy dog! Reading to a nonjudgmental, patient listener can give children the encouragement they need to improve their reading skills. The child’s confidence will grow in this relaxed environment.

Kids read in 20 minute increments and the only
requirement is that the child MUST be able to read (beginning readers are welcome). To make an appointment for your child, call the Children’s Room or email Mrs. Brown.

The Attleboro Public Library and Project Connect are teaming up to bring kids in preschool & kindergarten a monthly “Science Saturday” program.  We will be exploring STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) concepts and doing hands-on activities for some of our youngest patrons and their adults.  To make sure everyone stays safe and focused, we are asking that no younger siblings join us during this program. Please register by calling or emailing, using Science Saturdays as your subject.

Do you like scavenger hunts?  Would you like to explore the library "after hours"?  This event is based on Chris Grabenstein's bestseller, Escape From Mr. Lemoncello's Libraryin which twelve 12-year-olds participate in a scavenger hunt at the newly built public library (funded by the eccentric board game maker Mr. Luigi Lemoncello).  In the Attleboro Public Library version, participants will work together in groups to find clues & solve puzzles, in a race to complete the scavenger hunt with the most points.  The event includes a Skype session with the author, as well as pizza and drinks at the end.  All participants will receive 3 tickets toward the raffle of an autographed copy of the book (generously donated by Mr. Grabenstein)!  For kids 9 to 14 years old.

Cost:  $10 per child or $25 per family.  Registration required.  Space is limited.  Proceeds to benefit the renovation of the Children's Room.
