Deemocracy House is partnering with the Edison Public Library to establish the Book Buddies program.  Book Buddies is a literacy program focusedon enhancing the reading skills and abilitiesl of elementary school aged children.  Readers will meet with a volunteer and spend the 45 mnutes session once a week for 3 weeks reading age and skill-level appropriate books and engaging in lteracy centered activities.   Book Buddies volunteers are currently lenrolled college students who have been accepted to the Bonner Leader Program.  Bonner Leaders are hand selected for the program through a rigorous application and interview process.  They must pass afederal background check, and receive weekly leadership and professional development trainings.  (NO SESSION NOV. 12TH)

This is a 3 class workshop taught by WeMake 4H. Students learn how to build and program robots using the Lego EV3 and Mindstorm. It is for beginner level students who don't have any experience with robotics.

Democracy House is partnering with the Edison Public Library to establish the Book Buddies program.  Book Buddies is a literacy program focused on enhancing the reading skills and abilities of elementary school aged children.  Readers will meet with a volunteer and spend the 45 minutes session once a week for 3 weeks, reading age and skill-level appropriate books and engaging in literacy centered activities.   Book Buddies volunteers are currently enrolled college students who have been accepted to the Bonner Leader Program.  Bonner Leaders are hand selected for the program through a rigorous application and interview process.  They must pass a federal background check, and receive weekly leadership and professional development training.

  • understnad business and entrepeneurship
  • create and monitor their own businesses.

Certificates will be issued to all participants who attend the complete series.

Democracy House is partnering with the Edison Public Library to establish the Book Buddies program.  Book Buddies is a literacy program focused on enhancing the reading skills and abilities of elementary school aged children.  Readers will meet with a volunteer and spend the 45 minutes session once a week for 3 weeks, reading age and skill-level appropriate books and engaging in literacy centered activities.   Book Buddies volunteers are currently enrolled college students who have been accepted to the Bonner Leader Program.  Bonner Leaders are hand selected for the program through a rigorous application and interview process.  They must pass a federal background check, and receive weekly leadership and professional development training.
