Gratitude has been shown to improve our happiness, health, and relationships. Sages and scientists tell us that each act of kindness, no matter how small, helps quiet the mind and foster interconnectedness.

In this talk, ServiceSpace Coordinators Audrey Lin and Anne Veh will dive into the expansive nature of gratitude, share personal and collective experiments in kindness, and ultimately unleash a worldview in which priceless gifts— like gratitude, generosity, and compassion —can be put into greater circulation.

ServiceSpace is an incubator of generosity-driven projects that works at the intersection of volunteerism, technology and gift-economy. To learn more, visit www.servicespace.org

Chakra Balancing for the Holidays

Sunday

November 5

2 pm to 3:30 pm

In the yoga tradition, there are seven key points in the subtle body that are thought to be vortexes of energy, known as chakras. According to practitioners, when your chakras are open, your physical body and life are healthy, happy and balanced. When there is an imbalance or blockage, there will be a disturbance in your body or life. By healing the energetic centers of your body, your overall healthy will improve.

Please join presenter Marion Oldenhage to learn about the benefits of chakra balancing. Marion is a Clinically Certified Hypnotherapist, Hypnosis Birth Educator, Shamanic Healer, and Reiki Master Teacher.

2:00 PM  -  4:00 PM Readers' Round Table followed by Silent Book Club

Looking for something good to read? Welcome to Readers' Round Table, a monthly meeting for book lovers. Here's a chance to share a bit about the books you read and fill up your "to-be-read" list with recommendations by your peers.

Each month you'll get a short list of themed books for inspiration, but the following month you can talk about any great book you have read. Very briefly say what the book is about and why folks might like it. Remember, don't give away the ending!

We're meant to be an informal, fun, and friendly setting. All types and categories of reading are welcome. No registration and no commitment required, just drop by and come share your latest book crush with us.

After the Round Table discussion from 2:00-3:00 pm, you can stick around from 3:00-4:00 pm for our Silent Book Club. It's basicaly a silent reading hour, and you don't need to attend the Round Table to participate. Sometimes it's hard to make the time to read. Now you can schedule it and join others, too! Don't you deserve an hour of quiet, uninterrupted reading?

Who is a No Excuse Mom?
She’s a mom who makes no excuses for making her health a priority. She’s someone who prioritizes her health, her family’s health and understands the ripple effect their role plays in the health of their community. These moms chose to transform their lives by consciously deciding every day that their health was worth it. When they were tired they trained. When they were lost for time to exercise, they found the time. When they were busy, they purposefully planned and prepared their daily goals and meals to coincide with what they wanted out of life. Some work outside the home, some have multiple children, some dealt with depression and some are raising a family on their own. They are true examples of real every day women – whose fitness manifests in different sizes, shapes and ages. These women made No Excuses for not prioritizing the body that brought their babies into this world.
