Free Tax Assistance will be available at the Dublin Library every Saturday, beginning Saturday, February 3, 2018 through Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:15 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Group Study Room.

This program is jointly sponsored by the IRS and AARP Foundation. Trained volunteers assist with U.S. Federal and California State income tax and e-filing.

Various appointment time slots are available starting at 10:15 a.m., with the last available time slots starting at 2:30 p.m.  The Library will begin accepting appointments on Monday, January 22, 2018. You may call the Library at (925) 803-7252 during normal open hours or sign up in person at the Reference Desk.

Drop-ins with no appointment are welcome at any time, from 10:15 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and will be served on a first come, first served basis, subject to availability of volunteer staff.

There will be no Tax Assistance offered on Saturday, March 17, 2018, due to the St. Patrick's Day Festival at Civic Center.

Come to the library and pick a wrapped book from our adult book display. You won't be able to tell what the book is, but we'll let you know a bit about it.  So whether you're looking for a thrilling suspense, a warm-hearted romance, or something silly for the weekend, you're sure to find something that will catch your eye and, possibly, win your heart.

From today until February 14th, you can choose your blind date at the library. Check out your book, unwrap, and read! If you don't like the book, simply return it and choose another. It's feelings won't be hurt.

Each book comes with a Rate the Date book review card. Turn the card back in to the library's Information Desk by March 7, 2018, and you will be entered in a prize drawing. A tantalizing unnknown read and a chance at some free prizes... exciting things await you at the library. What are you waiting for?

Join us for a three-hour writing workshop in a safe, comfortable setting with novelist Anita Amirrezvani and poet/editor Persis Karim.

Through a series of writing exercises, you will be assisted in getting your story on the page as fiction, non-fiction, or poetry.

This creative writing workshop teaches specific techniques to strengthen your writing and offers supportive feedback.

 

Anita Amirrezvani: Her first novel, The Blood of Flowers, has appeared in 31 languages and waslong-listed for the 2008 Orange Prize for Fiction. Her second novel, Equal of the Sun, was published 2012. Anita teaches in the MFA Program in Writing at the California College of the Arts.

 

Persis Karim: She has edited three anthologies of Iranian-American literature  including A World  Between: Poems, Short Stories and Essays by Iranian Americans, Let Me Tell You Where I’ve Been: New Writing by Women of the Iranian Diaspora . Her poetry has been published in numerous national journals and magazines. She teaches literature and creative writing at San Jose State University.

Free Tax Assistance will be available at the Dublin Library every Saturday, beginning Saturday, February 3, 2018 through Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:15 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. in the Group Study Room.

This program is jointly sponsored by the IRS and AARP Foundation. Trained volunteers assist with U.S. Federal and California State income tax and e-filing.

Various appointment time slots are available starting at 10:15 a.m., with the last available time slots starting at 2:30 p.m.  The Library will begin accepting appointments on Monday, January 22, 2018.
