In this talk I will go over a “Year in the Life of a Honey Bee Hive.” From the time the queen starts laying eggs in February to the time she stops laying eggs in November, the hive is constantly “buzzing” with activity. We will discuss the three different types of bees in the hive and their responsibilities. We will also discuss the never ending threats to Honey Bees as well as the treatment methods used to help control the threats. Bears, Raccoons and Skunks are threats to Honey Bee hives that we will also discuss. From the outside a Honey Bee Hive looks like a simple wooden box, but the inside is anything but simple.

There will be a honey tasting as well.
