Paws for Reading at Ridley Township Public Library

Grades K-5

Grade school children are welcome to join us for our Paws for Reading program and spend time sharing stories with Brigid, a trained therapy dog from Comfort Caring Canines who loves books!  This event is geared toward children who are practicing reading and building confidence in their skills. 

Register below, space is limited.  And we ask that only grade school children sign-up to read, but younger siblings will have a chance to meet Brigid after the program.

Join Makin' Music as they play the guitar and lead children and parents in familiar and original songs and rhythm chants! Bring the family and come join the fun.

these can help reduce anxiety and stress and provide a sense of inner calm. Rich Conti, from the Schoolhouse Center Meditation Group,

will be the facilitator for the sessions. Meditation Saturdays will take place in the Quiet Room in the new library.

This is a Health Literacy Program of the PA Forward Initiative.

Timeless author Jane Austen was born on December 16th, 1775. This year marks the  243rd  anniversary of Jane's birth. Celebrate with us! We'll enjoy dessert and tea and watch Sense and Sensibility

starring Emma Thompson and Kate Winslet, which is considered one of the best adaptations of Jane Austen's novels.

Celebrate Ugly Holiday Sweater Week with all of us at the Ridley Township Public Library as we all don our best Ugly Sweaters!  Holiday programs all week including crafts and scavenger hunts!  It all winds up on Friday, December 21st with a Holiday Movie Day!  Popcorn provided!  Check back for list of movies being played!

Any patron that comes into the library from 12/17-21st wearing their holiday sweater will receive a FREE DVD RENTAL!

Join us to learn about the Aging at Home Program, which connects seniors to services that help them to stay in their own homes.

A panel of current users of the Aging at Home Program will join director Christine Helmandollar, to share with attendees how much the program means

to them, and how much it has helped them. Dessert and punch will be served at this event.

The Aging at Home Program offers chore assistance, handyman services, door to door transportation, health and wellness programs. It helps people 60 years of age

and older in the Ridley and Lansdowne areas to stay healthy, maintain their own homes and remain independent.

of Keep Music Alive, an organization founded to promote the value of music in our lives, has hosted several very successful concerts at our library. Light refreshments will be served at the concert, which

Entertainer Jon Turk returns with his part performance, part lecture program on the History of Motown. If you attended  his very successful

program in the fall, you'll enjoy returning to hear him sing more songs from the many talented Motown artists. If you haven't been to one of

Jon's programs, you are in for a great time! In between songs, Jon will enlighten you on how the Motown sound came about and how it flourished.
