Calling all young adventurers! Join the Young Adventurer’s Guild for interactive storytelling fun! 

This program is designed specifically with young adventurers in mind, by introducing the basics of Dungeons & Dragons (D&D) in a simplified, engaging, and age-appropriate format. Our aim is to foster creativity, teamwork, critical thinking, and basic math skills, all within the captivating realms of fantasy. Designed for ages 8-12. Registration is required.

Let Dawn, The Stitching Coach, teach you how to fold fabric into a patriotic star in this 1-hour long class. Simple enough for beginners yet fun for any crafting level. All materials will be supplied. This program is free and open to adults and teens but REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED as seating is limited.  

Shell & Bee visits for a special paint night for tweens and teens! Participants will discover their artistic side as they create a sunset mountain scene! This program is open to ages 8 - 16.

Join us for a family yoga experience with Jen from Earth Friends Discovery! Participants will enjoy an “adventure” themed yoga session to kick off our summer reading fun!

Dress comfortably for this program. Participants are encouraged to bring their own yoga mats or towels, but there will be some on hand to borrow, too.  This is a drop-in program. No yoga experience is necessary. All are welcome.

Want to foster your child's interest in STEM, while igniting their creative spark at the same time? Buildwave is a creative building program that feels like a video game!

Over the course of the workshop students create with over a dozen different building materials, including Lego®, PlusPlus®, and custom-made Buildwave materials. The workshop is structured like a video game, with an audiovisual setup featuring animations and music that guide students through the different building waves. As your child creates with wave after wave of new objects, they build creative confidence, become better collaborators, and encounter design and engineering fundamentals in a unique and memorable context.

Join us for a fun-filled afternoon of tackling the basics of the ukulele with Julie Stepanek. The instructor will bring instruments to share. No experience necessary! This program is open to children over age 8, tweens/teens, and adults!

Registration is required for this program to reserve the use of an instrument. Each participant must register individually.

This is a mobile petting zoo that you can walk through at your own pace. If the weather is nice, we will set up on the library lawn, otherwise the event will be held in our community room.

Investigate Earth’s very own satellite with Cool-ology! Participants will make moon-like craters, investigate moon phases using Oreo cookies, and design mini-rockets they can launch. We’ll take a close look at the surface of the moon, then do some moon STEAM activities.

So many creatures call fallen logs home! Find out what is underneath with the Denison Pequotsepos Nature Center!

Fallen logs may seem unassuming, but they are full of life. Slugs, salamanders, spiders, frogs, snakes, and more critters make their homes under rocks and logs. We’ll meet some animals from the nature center and learn all about why logs are so important!
