In this workshop, math mastery mentor and joyful learning expert Rebecca Zook will provide you with groundbreaking tools to build and nurture your child's math confidence. Learn how to support your child to achieve mastery, rise to the top of their class, and in time experience math as a source of joy and self-expression. Walk away with clear steps, case studies, and tools you can use to ensure math confidence. With over 13 years experience in math education, Rebecca mentors kids who are freaking out, failing, or crying themselves to sleep over math.

Local author Lennie Grimaldi will discuss his new book, Connecticut Characters: Personalities Spicing Up the Nutmeg State.  This book chronicles 40 years of spicy personalities from political chili peppers such as John Rowland and Joe Ganim, to pop culture cloves Linda Blair and Ed and Lorraine Warren, to habanero Hell's Angels and mobsters.  It is a journey into the underbelly of cities to the wooded terrain of wilderness warriors.  It even includes the FBI and  Donald Trump!  Copies of the book will be available for purchase and signing.  Registration is required.

The black bear population in Connecticut has continued to increase since the 1980s.  It's important for residents and outdoor enthusiasts to learn real facts about black bears, enabling them to stay safe, protect themselves and their property, and make possible coexistence with bears.  This program is presented by Felicia Ortner, a Connecticut Master Wildlife Conservationist (MWC) and a bear enthusiast.  She has been studying about bears for over 30 years.  Registration is required.

We are excited to announce our new partnership with Lincoln Center!  Throughout the year, the Library will be offering free screenings of previous Lincoln Center performances.  Join us for our inaugural screening - A Memorial Concert for Pete and Toshi Seeger.  Pete and Toshi Seeger’s legacies run deep: from transforming the way we listen to our American roots, to demanding social justice and successfully advocating for grassroots environmental change. Organized by their grandson Kitama Cahill-Jackson, an all-star line-up of family and friends gathers to remember these leaders in folk music and activism. Registration is required.
