Join local historian Bruce Moore as he talks about the importance the quarries played in our town history. East Longmeadow’s brownstone industry began around 1800 and during most of the 19th century it was home to some 50 quarries. The three most famous were the Norcross, Kibbe and Maynard Quarries. These brownstone quarries provided some of the richest brownstone in the country during the 19th century.
