The ELPL is hosting a Creative Writing Workshop for teens ages 13 and up. Be prepared to write, read, and share your work; receive constructive feedback; learn the fundamentals of fiction; and explore two of the most popular literary genres – Science Fiction and Fantasy. This workshop is open to aspiring authors at all levels. Bring paper and pen (or laptop/tablet), and your imagination!

This workshop will be taught by Jennifer Gaboury, BA in English (AIC), MA in English (UMass Amherst); current MFA-W student (Goddard College); former English tutor (STCC Writing Center); specialization in speculative fiction.

Parent Cafe: Keeping Privates Private 

This free Parent Cafe: Keeping Privates Private is intended to teach parents (and other adults concerned about the well-being of children) how to protect children from sexual abuse. The focus of the Cafe will be learning how to use the book to talk to pre-school and elementary aged kids (3-8) about staying safe from sexual abuse. 

All participants will receive a copy of a children's book on body safety. Enter to win prizes!

This event is for adults only. No childcare provided.

Based on the AWA (Amherst Writers & Artists) method, our drop-in writer's group welcomes all ages but it recommended for high school age and older. Led by Christina Cooper, an East Longmeadow author, the workshop is open to writer's of all levels in a relaxed and supportive atmosphere.

Along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she always sought: her own identity.
