Middle and High School students are welcome to drop-in and bring activities they enjoy.  Currently, we have a Wii gaming system and there are folks interested in D&D, hand-held gaming, and a variety of collectible card games.  We have some board games, chess boards, and other items. We will have snacks, but you can bring your own as well.  If you have Wii games you want to play, feel free to bring them.  

We will be starting a separate Drawing Club in the next few weeks, but if you like to draw - you can bring that too.

This program was the idea of the Teen and Tween Advisory Board.  More information on the board is included on the Teen & Tween page.

Huge “Attic” Book Sale – Saturday, May 5th from 9 AM – 1 PM – All Books 50 cents each!

The Friends of the Westminster Library will be hosting a book sale in the library attic on the top floor of the library.

We have a huge collection of donated & retired books. There are THOUSANDS of books from which to choose; every book at this special sale can be yours for only 50 cents each!

This sale will be open during the four  hours the library is open, so get there early!

The Friends of the Westminster Library are responsible for all our book sales.  All funds from the book sale support the library.  Money raised allows the library to provide professional performers, summer reading materials and prizes, and so much more.

Middle and High School students are welcome to drop-in and bring activities they enjoy.  Currently, we have a Wii gaming system and there are folks interested in D&D, hand-held gaming, and a variety of collectible card games.  We have some board games, chess boards, and other items. We will have snacks, but you can bring your own as well.  If you have Wii games you want to play, feel free to bring them.  

We will be starting a separate Drawing Club in the next few weeks, but if you like to draw - you can bring that too.

This program was the idea of the Teen and Tween Advisory Board.  More information on the board is included on the Teen & Tween page.

provide an interactive lecture titled, "The Health Benefits of Tea." In this lecture, guests will first learn about the
health benefits of adding whole-leaf tea to their daily diet. Danielle will answer commonly asked questions
regarding the varieties of whole-leaf tea and the processing of each variety of tea. Attendees will leave with a
solid knowledge of the health benefits of tea, both as a beverage and as an ingredient in their daily cooking.

Join us when professional Robin Williams impersonator, Mr. Roger Kabler, will be on hand in character as the late comedian. For the first part of the presentation Mr. Kabler will perform part of the late comedian’s stand-up routine, as well as reminisce about his life. In the second half of his show Mr. Kabler will then assume the identity of other famous celebrities as well as Robin Williams. Please be advised, that although all are welcome, this presentation is geared for adults, and young people of high school age or older.

This program is supported, in part, by a grant from the Westminster Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

Annual Book Sale Starts at 9 AM, Children’s Summer Reading Kick-Off Party with Balloon Artist Ceil Riveras and Ice Cream Social Starts at 10 AM

Please join us for our annual book sale, ice cream social, and summer reading kick-off event!

We have a huge selection of soft and hard cover books of all types. Whether you love fiction, non-fiction, mysteries or romance, we have books for you!

Our sale coincides with the Children’s Room Summer Reading Kick-Off event. There will be ice cream, games, activities, and special balloon creations for children. Balloon artist Ceil Riveras will be at the event from 10 – 12:45 PM. The Ice Cream Social will take place beginning at 10 AM and is for all ages.

Summer Reading books recommended by the schools will be available to borrow.  

Sign-up children ages 0 – 11 for a chance to win prizes for keeping up their reading over the summer.  Babies and non-readers can earn prizes for being read to or doing other early literacy activities with parents or caregivers.

Our Teen and Tween summer reading program does not require registration. Kids entering grades 6 – 12 can begin receiving prizes on June 21st just by checking out materials (one prize per day limit). Please see our Teen & Tween news below for details.

   3:30 PM  -  5:00 PM Metalsmithing Workshop for Teens & Tweens

The workshop consists of learning about the structure of metal and how to properly stamp shapes and letter stamps to create textures and words on metal.  The project will be to make metal bookmarks.

Participants can stamp favorite quotes or names on the bookmarks.  There is a sulphur dip to blacken the recessed areas on the bookmark and make the texture really pop!  The bookmarks include a drilled hole and participants can add ribbon or string to finish the project if they would like.

The workshop is for grades 6-12 and is 1.5 hours long.

Registration is required and will be limited to 12 participants.  Details on registering will be posted during summer reading.
