The multi-talented five-some The KC Sisters put a fresh new spin on the term “Sister Act.” Harkening back to the heyday of family groups, with a rootsy, Americana sound that incorporates folk, country, gospel, R&B and jazz.

What sets The KC Sisters apart from any other group of musical siblings or indie bands is their musical diversity, transcendent ease with three and four part harmonies, and the fact that each sister is a multi-talented vocalist and musician skilled in a variety of instruments. Deanna (18) and Noelle (16), who wrote “Daddy Came Home” with their father, the group’s producer and arranger Chris Casey, play violin, piano, drums, guitar and bass. Their younger sisters are 14 year old Tasha (violin, drums, piano, bass) and 12 year olds Elise (violin, cello, bass, piano, drums) and Kathleen (violin, bass, drums, piano). Enter the construction zone!  Sparky’s Puppets will perform “Build a Better World” at the Barney Branch Library in Farmington on Monday, July 17 at 10:00 A.M.  In this show, the “Three Little Pigs” are hard at work on their houses, trying to protect themselves from the Big Bad Wolf.  And, in another story, a fisherman meets a talking fish that can make wishes come true.  The magic wishes make a cottage, a mansion, and a castle suddenly spring up on the beach!  Other tales will complete the program.

Sparky’s Puppets dramatize favorite children’s stories with colorful hand puppets, lively humor and plenty of audience participation.  For over 37 years, they have delighted children and family audiences throughout New England.  This show was especially created for the library’s summer reading program theme.

Starting in 1986, they continue to perform at festivals, concerts and clubs throughout North America. Their most recent triumph was to win the 2008 State of CT Blues Challenge and the opportunity to represent their state in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee.
