Act TWO is a teen theater group comprised of students from across Southampton Town. Through theater and discussion, students learn how to navigate through tough and relevant issues. Help shelter animals feel a little happier and more comfortable while they wait to be adopted! Please drop off any of the following to the Teen Department: a new pet toy, dog or cat food (dry or canned), peanut butter, bird seed, treats for cats or dogs, new or gently used blankets or towels, dog beds, cat carriers, Kongs or other supplies.

Use our brand new equipment for school projects, to explore recording your own podcasts, and edit your videos.  We have mics, an audio recorder, photo and video camera, Macbook, and editing software.  Use of our equipment, along with our software, is now available year-round. Check with a teen librarian for more information!

Local photographer Jeremy Dennis will share a comprehensive creative photography course that engages young photographers to fully understand their camera technology and enable them to create great photographs through their individual vision. This workshop is designed for beginners to advanced students who want to take their photography skills and vision to the next level.

Join us and the Southampton Youth Bureau for the ultimate gaming competition! What’s at stake? Glory, prizes, and a brand new Nintendo Switch, courtesy of the Hampton Bays Public Library Teen Center. Let the games begin!

$5.00 pre-Registration prior to January 25th or $10.00 at the door. Winners in each bracket will be entered to win the grand prize, with additional bracket prizes also available. All participants who wish to play rated M games must have a permission slip signed by a parent or guardian. Transportation provided from the Westhampton Beach Library with advanced registration. Our talking circles, Girls Circle and The Council for guys, reach across demographics to help youth find belonging, develop healthy social skills, and build self-confidence. These structured meetings also use evidence based techniques to provide healing, prevention, and intervention tools for teens who have or may experience trauma. 

These circles create connection and build a community that provides safety, respect, non-judgment, and a listening environment. Facilitators avoid lecture or advice, but affirm strengths and promote youth leadership through the core principle that all people deserve a voice, to be believed in, and to know that “they are not alone.”

Non-refundable $25.00 due at registration; includes 11x14 canvas, pizza and soft drink. $5 from each registrant will be donated to loveisrespect.org whose purpose is to engage, educate and empower young people to prevent and end abusive relationships.
