Use our brand new equipment for school projects, to explore recording your own podcasts, and edit your videos.  We have mics, an audio recorder, photo and video camera, Macbook, and editing software.  Use of our equipment, along with our software, is now available year-round. Check with a teen librarian for more information!

Topics include cyber bullying, exposure to inappropriate content, online predators, posting inappropriate information, and sexting. Our talking circles, Girls Circle and The Council for Boys, reach across demographics to help youth find belonging, develop healthy social skills, and build self-confidence. These structured meetings also use evidence based techniques to provide healing, prevention, and intervention tools for teens who have or may experience trauma. 

These circles create connection and build a community that provides safety, respect, non-judgment, and a listening environment. Facilitators avoid lecture or advice, but affirm strengths and promote youth leadership through the core principle that all people deserve a voice, to be believed in, and to know that “they are not alone.”

Thanks to a grant through the Huntington Arts Council and professional photographer, Andrea Cote from The Watermill Center, teens spent their summer learning about the art of photography and created their own messages to convey through photographs. Join us for a reception and enjoy their art from mid to the end of September.
