Learn about MyPlate, the new food pyramid published by the USDA Center for Nutrition Policy and Promotion. is lesson will teach you the basics of nutrition. We will outline the 5 food groups, talk about portions, and discuss how to set your plate up to be eating healthier.

During this program participants will gain three skills for eating healthy on a budget-planning, purchasing, and preparing. Participants will be taught a few different skills to plan meals and snacks ahead of time to avoid purchasing fast foods that typically cost a lot more.

Dagger DogVinci's owner, Yvonne (who is an artist herself), will give the children a brief history of Dagger's journey becoming a famous canine artist.  Then, Dagger will demonstrate how he paints.  The children will follow by painting in the Dagger DogVinci style.  There is alwasy time for pictures and cuddling with Dagger, who is also a certified therapy dog!

Registration for this year’s Summer Reading Program begins Monday, June 25 at
9:15 AM online or in person at the library.

 

Reading Rocks – Independent Readers(for those who read on their own)

After your child has read the first three books, have them bring a list of the titles to the library.  Each child will place their name on a banner and they will be entitled to receive a prize each week, for each group of three books read.  They can submit a drawing or written summary of the story which will be included in our annual Rockin’ Summer Magazine.

First week to submit reading lists is the week of July 2nd.

music lessons. Tito earned many nicknames, including “King of Timbales.”
Timbales are a special kind of Cuban drum, made of steel. Come listen to
songs of Tito Puente playing the timbales, learn more about his life and
