Since 1985, Richard Lindberg has served as the Chicago White Sox team historian. Four of his 16 books, including “Total White Sox” cover the often tragic and cursed history of the city’s beloved South Side team. Lindberg’s interactive presentation spans the full gamut of team history from Charles Comiskey and the “Dead Ball Era” and into the modern age, presenting an insider’s view and interpretation of the team and its front office. The Winter sessions of Family Story Time will begin on Monday, January 23 meeting through February 27, 2017. There will be no Family Story Time on Monday, February 20 as the library will be closed for President's Day. The Spring sessions of Family Story Time will begin on March 27 through May 1, 2017

Parents and caregivers play a critical role as a child's first teacher. Families are invited to share thematic tales, rhymes and songs which establish a groundwork for literacy. A simple craft may be worked on together.

Learn anti-aging techniques such as joint mobility and spinal flexibility that focus on the healthy longevity of the body, mind, emotional, and spirit. The library's monthly teen volunteer night is held on the first Thursday of each month from 6-8pm. Teens in grades 6-12 can sign up for these volunteer nights, where you’ll be helping us with basic tasks such as cutting items for storytime prep, straightening shelves, etc.

REGISTRATION REQUIRED. Space is limited to 6 teens per session. Registration opens on the 1st day of the month for that month's session.

Registration for the May session will open on Monday, May 1st at 8:30am.

Marti Anne's vinyasa flow yoga class begins with a series of Sun Salutations to bring in movement and breath. The practice builds on the foundations of yoga and incorporates a more invigorating approach. Practitioners will have the opportunity to choose the level with which they engage the practice while being guided to expand their potential and increase mind-body harmony. Some prior yoga experience needed. Please note that this program will take place at 9am before the library openat 10am. You're encouraged to bring a yoga mat; however, one will be provided for you to use during the class if needed. Registration required.

Let’s Grow a Pizza! 

Pizza is one of everyone’s favorite foods…but did you know that you can grow a pizza in a container? Join the Will County Master Gardeners for a fun, hands on pizza garden planting project. You will learn all about the ingredients that come from the garden and how they make it to your pizza. Each participant will make and take a container garden that has all the vegetables to make a homemade pizza. Recipes will also be provided.
