Alphabet Alley is an unstructured play and learn period that has letter-learning toys to promote early literacy. These rotating materials will be out in the youth department near the Library's Picture Books and Early Readers.

We have: magnetic letters, block sets, flash cards and phonics sets, snap and learn letter sets, felt board alphabets, carpet squares, chalk boards and beading letters.
It is for caregivers and children ages 1-5.

Registration is not required, drop in any time during the hour.  Cleanup begins an hour after start time.

This program is a great way to introduce your child to library story times and reading. Age appropriate books are shared with the group. Songs, nursery rhymes, puppets, and felt board figures create a rich audio-visual and social experience. After 20 minutes of structured group time, there is time for play and for socializing. No registration required.

Join us for a new program for toddlers and preschoolers to explore all things science!

Each session we will examine a different aspect of science through books and hands-on experiments for your little scientist to investigate, play and have fun!

This week’s theme is: ALL ABOUT ME!

Please dress in old clothes or wear a smock. Some experiments may get messy!

Registration is required starting at 7am on the day of the program.  Please register each child separately.

Makerspace for Kids is designed to inspire young minds to engage, tinker , and innovate. Join the Makers Mindset and discover the fun of imagination, the joy of building, and the pride of creation.

This program will be offered monthly from January to May. Each program will offer a different project.

Weekly registration is required and space is limited. The monthly schedule is as follows:

 

          January 20, 1-2 pm, registration begins January 13, 9:30 am

          February 17, 10:30-11:30 am, registration  begins February 10, 9:30 am

          March 17, 10:30-11:30 am, registration begins March 10, 9:30 am
