Sunday Surprise Craft!

For children 4 - 11 yrs, youngest with a caregiver.

What’s more appropriate than decorating your own small holiday tree – as an ornament! 

Using an easy paper folding technique, you’ll create a DIY paper holiday tree. 

Then decorate it will all kinds of festive materials including holiday glitter, glitter glue and pom poms, etc.

Hang up at home for some festive holiday cheer!

Drop in any time between 12:30 and 4:00pm.

The goal of this program is to help middle and upper elementary school students understand concepts in chemistry, physics, earth science, and biology. Volunteers will also assist students in preparing for science competitions including the Science Bowl and Science Olympiad. General questions will be addressed and topics of interest will be discussed where they require more clarity. 

No registration required. Please arrive on time.

Top high school math students from the New Jersey area will help you improve your mathematical thinking with creative ways of learning math! During these sessions we will be going over advanced topics not generally covered in the school math curriculum.

Read a book to your newborn, infant, and/or toddler. You may repeat books as often as you like.  You can reach 365 books in a year if you read every night; 730 books in two years; and 1,095 books in three years. Alphabet Alley is an unstructured play and learn period that has letter-learning toys to promote early literacy. The materials will be out in the youth department near the Library's Picture Books and Early Readers. 

Materials include rotating: magenetic letters, blocks, PreK flash cards, matching activities, felt board, carpet squares, coloring sheets, chalk boards and beading letters.

It is for caregivers and children ages 1-5.

Registration is not required, drop in any time during the hour.  Cleanup begins an hour after start time.

Kim returns to sing some of the most loved children's songs, like The ABC Song, Wheels on the Bus, If You're Happy and You Know it, and a couple of originals she wrote for her own sons.

Not only will you sit down but she will have you up and doing the hokey pokey and shaking eggs in her energetic style of entertaining the little ones.

Be prepared to join in with your child and have some fun. There are stickers for everyone at the end of the show.

There is an emphasis on interaction with the music and the rhymes through singing, actions, and props to build pre-literacy skills. This program runs about 30 minutes. No registration required.

Kids in elementary and middle school will develop a foundation for programming as they get hands on with Raspberry Pi’s to learn the basics of Scratch and Python programming, while also beginning to understand how computers work.
