   7:00 PM  -  8:30 PM Susan Tordella: Positive Parenting Strategies
    Contact: Reference   978-623-8401 x31   rdesk@mhl.org

An interactive workshop on parenting strategies, including natural and logical consequences, encouragement and family meetings to:

· Enhance the parent-child connection (one of the best ways to keep your child safe);

· Nurture your child's self-esteem;

· Teach your child how to do things they might not feel like (self-discipline);

· Counteract entitlement;

· Set up your child for success in life (not calling home for money).

Susan Tordella, author of Raising Able: How Chores Nurture Grit and Self-Discipline in Children, has led workshops for nearly a decade, teaching what she most needed to learn: skills to yell less and feel better as a mother at the end of the day.  Susan’s coaching focuses on how to change PARENTAL behavior to influence children to make better choices.  Children learn responsibility, and parents learn to trust their children to make good decisions when their children become teens and they are 60 miles away, going 60 miles an hour.
