2:00 PM  -  3:30 PM Author Citra Tenore

Doherty Middle School student Citra Tenore will be here to share her newly published novel Summer with a Twist!  Come meet Citra, hear about her book, how she wrote and published it, and her plans for a sequel.

About Me: Citra Tenore

I love watching movies, reading fiction, and goofing around with my friends and little brother. I’ll ride almost any thrill ride at Canobie Lake or Six Flags and can’t get enough of the Untamed ride. However, park clowns scare me terribly, and the only thing that scares me more than clowns are math tests.

I have a passion for writing that started two years ago when my fourth grade teacher, Mrs. McCausland, helped me focus on it. The next year, my fifth grade teacher, Mrs. Nussbaum, let me read one of my stories to the class. That experience made me realize just how much I enjoy entertaining others through my writing, and my teachers’ ongoing encouragement and support led me to dedicate this first book to them.

Summer with a Twist is my first complete book, and I have already started the second book in this series about a girl named Chloe Taliri. The second book begins where the first book ends and is a funny look at the things we face as sixth and seventh graders. Like Summer with a Twist, I am writing the second book from my perspective, because I believe that this approach brings out the real thoughts, words and emotions that we pre-teens and teens experience and use in our real lives. In the end, I want the readers to feel as if the stories in my books could have truly happened and are almost like turning a mirror on their everyday reality.
