Two authors join us—Catherine Brunell, author of Becoming Catholic Again: Connecting the Faith We Were Taught with the Faith We Live & Fred Casselman, author of Fresh Air: New Visions for the Catholic Church.

Brunell tells her personal story, examining how to maintain an authentic spiritual life and a connection to the Church in a postmodern world. Brunell invites us to find solace in her story—and to realize that faith can be approached as a route to personal discovery that can lead to spiritual growth.

Fred's book Fresh Air expands on tradition, bringing a more up-to-date, enlightened sense of love and the feminine into the Church. His writings are gentle and hold the space for new ways without invalidating the old.

The Evening Book Group meets the last Wednesday of the month, January through November. This year's theme is traveling through the decades, from the turn of the twentieth century through 1999.  Discussions are led by a staff member.

Sarah Dessen joins us to talk about her newest novel, The Moon and More.
