I loved reading about his close-knit extended family and wide circle of friends and neighbors (some very colorful indeed!) and how his childhood was shaped by those beautiful people. Ed's words are eloquent, witty and heartfelt and as such, a real pleasure to read. I pray Ed keep writing !!"

6:30 PM  -  7:45 PM Climate Change: A Fresh Approach to Moving Forward

This interactive workshop allows each participant to reflect on their own understanding of climate change, its impacts on our environment, and how to become engaged in crafting solutions. Instead of using a “wait & see approach” to the problem, the audience is encouraged to gain a better grasp of the science and to see how communities in Rhode Island are being affected. This then lays the framework for transitioning to action both on a local and national level.

Sharon Gold has been a resident of Wakefield for 30+ years. She Holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Studies from the City University of New York. Sharon works with residents and legislators at the local, state and national level to address climate change issues. The workshops she delivers are designed to raise awareness about the impact these environmental changes are having on Rhode Island residents. As a retired University Educator and Career Coach/Corporate Trainer, she devotes her time to volunteering for Citizen’s Climate lobby to build political will to address this issue on a national level. In addition to her work with CCL, Sharon introduced an Anti-Vehicle Idling Resolution in South Kingstown that was passed in June 2018, and in the State Senate.
