Saturday, June 24 at 11am

The 3 Foragers are a family from southeastern Connecticut who have been identifying, photographing, and cooking with the edible plants and fungi of New England for more than 12 years. Their blog, Facebook page, and newly published book all focus on family-friendly, environmentally sustainable harvest of both our native and invasive species of plants, and ways to incorporate these foods into your diet with original recipes. Please preregister.

Join us this summer, as we try to “Build a Better World” for us and those around us.  Those who enroll in the Adult Summer Program are also eligible to earn raffle tickets by attending the featured programs.  We will be raffling off a 7’ Fire Tablet and a Roku (video streaming) stick to help create a “better world through better technology.”  The raffle will be held the night of the concert on July 27th.

Store, Share and Print: part 3 of Fun with Photos

7pm-8pm.  June 26
 is a general-interest set of programs that will explore the ways photography has been changed by the  digital age.While some aspects of photography, such as composition and exposure will always stay the same, how we take, store, share, and “develop” are totally new.The set will begin with a quick introduction to the program, and the topic of composition will be discussed.  Every meeting will end in a question and answer period, where your particular camera and photo questions will be aired. The second program will deal with improving your pictures after you have taken them (June 12).  This is called “post-processing”.Class 3 will discuss how you store, share, and print your pictures (June 26).Finally, class 4 will demonstrate Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop (July 10). Please register separately for each session.

From lizard lounges to millipede mansions, learn about a variety of different shelters animals build and use.  Kids will also learn a new respect for nature when they realize how hard animals work on these shelters, just so they can survive! Join us for the close of the Adult Summer Reading Celebration as we savor some of the world’s most beautiful music created during the Classical and Rocco periods.  Mychal Gendron, classical guitarist will perform  “Classics and Romantics – 19th Century Virtuoso Guitar Works”  The late 18th through the middle of the 19th century spawned the beginnings of the “classical guitar”, championed by virtuoso performer/composers throughout Europe who were inspired by Beethoven, Rossini and others. We are also asking for donations to Animal Rescue Rhode Island. Feel free to bring in unopened dog/cat food (wet/dry), or clean towels, clean blankets, and unused toys. All ages.
