    PunishedThe Book Buddies Book Club, for readers in grades 3, 4 & 5, will meet for book discussion, snacks and a related activity. The May book is Punished! by David Lubar. Copies of the book are available at the Children's Desk. Children who would like to attend should sign up at the Children's Desk (or by calling 847-8720 ext. 204) and plan to read the book prior to the meeting.     Toddler Time, for children 2 - 3 years old and a caregiver, consists of read-alouds, activity rhymes, songs and a simple craft project. This program helps young children with developing social skills and promotes an interest in reading. Registration is required. Held in the John Clarke Children's Program Room.

    Books & Crafts, for children 4 - 7 years old, features read-alouds, creative games, activities and a craft project. The program assists children with school readiness and supports emergent readers. Children attend independently however parents and caregivers are asked to remain in the library building during the program. Registration is required. Held in the John Clarke Children's Program Room.

    Dig Into Reading with the 2013 Children's Summer Reading Program! From June 24th - August 14th, kids ages 0 - 12 are encouraged to join us as we dig into dinosaurs, gardening, garden gnomes, archaeology, underground animals, buried treasure and more! Sign up at the Children's Desk, online or over the phone (847-8720 ext. 204). The summer reading program features performers, puppet workshops, activities for Tweens, preschool storytimes and the outdoor fair. Dig into summer reading and find all the details on our website.

    Dig Into Ancient Egypt!  Make a cartouche pendant of your name.  An Egyptian "cartouche" is an oblong or oval symbol, which was drawn to contain the ancient Egyptian hieroglyphics that spelled out the name of a King or Queen.  These can be found on Egyptian monuments.  This is a Tween activitiy for kids ages 9 - 12.  No registration is required.  Held in the John Clarke Children's Program Room.  Visit the Tween Summer Reading webpage for information about all the Tween activities this summer.

    Dig Into a Good Book!  Read The Spindlers by Lauren Oliver and come for a book discussion and related activity.  In The Spindlers, Liza, accompanied by an eccentric, human-sized rat, embarks on a perilous quest through an underground realm to save her brother Patrick, whose soul has been stolen by the evilest of creatures--the spider-like spindlers.
