Film historian Philip Harwood takes us back to Hollywood, before the enforcement of the Motion Picture Production Code, when studios tested the outer limits of propriety with films such as Baby Face, Red-Headed Woman, Three on a Match, and Scarface. Discover how filmmakers were able to initially ignore the Code, enacted in 1930, and what led studios to finally capitulate in 1934.
