Presented by South Nassau Communities Hospital, this six session program will provide you with everything you need to know about diabetes, and how you can help manage it for yourself, or your loved one. The Diabetes Self-Management Program is a free six-week workshop for people with type 2 diabetes and pre-diabetes.  Topics include exercise, monitoring blood sugar, healthy eating, preventing low blood sugar, skin and foot care, medications and stress/relaxation. Enjoy the smooth, sultry voice of vocalist Tierney Ryan as she performs a mixture of new and classic jazz standards such as “All of Me”, “Bewitched”, “Fly me to the Moon,” and “Whisper Not,” as well as some of her own original compositions.  Tierney is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music, with a Master’s Degree in Jazz Voice, and has appeared at jazz clubs in New York and at the Dix Hills Performing Arts Center.   This concert is free and open to the public.  Doors will open to the public at 1:30pm, and the concert will start at 2pm.  Seating is on a first come basis.
