"A study at Tufts University found that students who read to dogs have better outcomes than students who read to humans.

They experienced a slight gain in reading ability and attitudes toward reading, while those who read to people experienced a

decrease on both measures. Even more noticeable, there was no attrition in the dog group, while one third of those reading

to humans failed to complete the program"- Library Journal

He also co-authored the book Stealing Rembrandts: The Untold Story of Notorious Art Heists. His second book, The Art of the Con: The Most Notorious Fakes, Frauds and Forgeries in the Art World was published in 2015 and was a New York Times Crime Bestseller.

"A study at Tufts University found that students who read to dogs have better outcomes than students who read to humans.

They experienced a slight gain in reading ability and attitudes toward reading, while those who read to people experienced a

decrease on both measures. Even more noticeable, there was no attrition in the dog group, while one third of those reading

to humans failed to complete the program"- Library Journal

Come join the Storied Lives Book Club at the Pawtucket Public Library, an opportunity to meet with other book lovers,
hear their ideas about the books and share your own. This month we will discuss A Constellation of Vital Phenomena by
Anthony Marra, the story of the intricate pattern of connections that weaves together the pasts of three unlikely companions
and unexpectedly decides their fate. This tale of the transcendent power of love in wartime is a work of sweeping breadth,
profound compassion, and lasting significance.
The Storied Lives Book Club reads and shares thoughts about a new book every month. Copies of A Constellation of Vital

Join us for Living Literature's theatre rendition of Jean Shepherd's A Christmas Story. Taken from Jean Shepherd’s "Duel in the Snow, or Red Ryder Nails the Cleveland Street Kid," from his book In God We Trust, All Others Pay Cash, on which the 1983 classic movie, A Christmas Story, was based, this performance relates the comic tale of the mid-western, Depression-era child who yearns for an official Red Ryder air rifle for Christmas, and the often unexpected events he encounters along the way.

Live performance. 40 minutes.
