Come celebrate the official kick off of this year's Summer Reading Program for children at the Pawtucket Public Library. Sign up for the program, get a free book, make a bookmark and have a snack. Families will learn about this year's program called "Dig Into Reading" and how they can sign up and participate. The Summer Reading Program is open to all kids 12 and under and encourages children to read or be read to for 12 hours over the summer.

    This 90 minute program is designed to give teens an understanding of Rhode Island agriculture and offer a cooking experience that features RI grown fruits and veggies. The chef will assist students in creating their own veggie quesadillas and salsa. Participants will also have the opportunity to make newspaper pots and plant seeds to some fo the vegetables used in the recipe. Please register at the Reference Desk. This program is part of the Summer Reading Program Beneath the Surface. Remember, for each Teen Summer Reading program you attend you will earn one more entry for the Grand Prize given at the end of the summer.
