Matt will be your host and we will be discussing Mindy Kahling's memoir "Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me?'" In this memoir, Mindy invites readers on a tour of her life and her unscientific observations on romance, friendship, and Hollywood, with several conveniently placed stopping points for you to run errands and make phone calls. Mindy Kaling really is just a Girl Next Door—not so much literally anywhere in the continental United States, but definitely if you live in India or Sri Lanka.

This will be a three-part workshop open to seasoned poetry writers (ages 18+). A prompt will be given before the first class, and at the end of each class for the following session. Consider the prompt as a spring-board to dive off from: if it inspires a poem you'd like to workshop, grand. If not, bring in any other poem you would like to work on.

Please include your email address when you register.  The facilitator will email an assignment to attendees before the first session.  For those without an email address, a copy of the assignment can be picked up at the Central Library's Reference Desk.

Barbara Ungar, a professor of English at The College of Saint Rose, has written books of poetry including "Charlotte Bronte, You Ruined My Life" and "Immortal Medusa."

This workshop was funded by The Friends of SCPL.

After a tense encounter at a diner with a drifter named Jack, Paul offers Jack a place to stay-and soon the edgy, demanding Jack muscles his way into Paul's work. As a storm cuts off power to the isolated cabin, the two men begin a jagged game of one-upmanship that will bring at least one tale to an end.
