Authors Among Us--Those Were the Days: Memoir Writing

Facilitated by Paul Lamar

This is a three-part workshop meeting on October 11, 18, and 25.

Is it time to look back and make sense of it all, for your family and friends? To remember the big events and the day to day episodes? Places and people? In this workshop, we will discuss the opportunities and challenges of writing memoir, write to prompts, share pieces with classmates and develop a plan for continuing the memoir project when the classes end. Open to novice and seasoned writers age 18 and up.

Paul Lamar has been a theater reviewer for the Daily Gazette for 20 years. He has taught high school and college, and is published in a variety of literary magazines and the New York Times.

This program series is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature. Sponsored by the Mohawk Valley Library System and participating member libraries.
