If you have a child who has progressive myopia, you owe it to yourself and to your child to find out how to prevent their nearsightedness from worsening.  Orthokeratology is a system of special contact lenses which are worn at night.  These lenses reshape the corneas safely and painlessly to give great vision without glasses or contacts all day.  It's like LASIK without surgery!  It's great for children as well as adults who do not want to wear glasses or daytime contacts.  Imagine waking up in the morning, removing the lenses, and spending all of your waking hours without thinking about your vision issues!  Come to this presentation to learn how Dr. Alice Cusner, a Canton optometrist, can help you and your children enjoy life without glasses and prevent the vision-threatening effects of myopia.

Join us as we take apart or "reverse engineer" everything we can get our hands on from blenders to electric guitars and more. Disassembling an object helps us better understand how it works, as well as teaching practical, hands-on skills. We will not be breaking anything at Take Apart Tuesday - although we will be working on non-working, discarded, or unwanted items, it is always our goal to be able to reassemble whatever we dismantle. The items to take apart, as well as tools and safety equipment, will be provided, but attendees are more than welcome to bring an item from home. We are also accepting donations of broken or unwanted materials to the program (for safety reasons we cannot accept anything with glass, liquids, or that has been used to prepare foods).

10:00 AM  -  8:00 PM Craft Supply Swap!
    Contact: Miki Wolfe   781-784-1578   mwolfe@ocln.org

Are you a crafter? Do you love to make things or repurpose things in your spare time? The Sharon Public Library will be hosting a Craft Swap, where interested parties can drop off materials on during the week (Monday through Wednesday), and on Thursday, people can browse for new supplies, all free!

If you drop off crafting materials during the week, you will be given a ticket for early access browsing on Thursday. All others interested in picking up free crafting materials will be welcome after the initial early-access period is over.

Early Access Browsing will take place from 11:00 am through 11:30 am. At 11:30 am, the room will open to the general public, and browsing will continue through 7:30 pm. As this is a community swap event, all items are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We ask that you be respectful of your neighbors, and allow everyone opportunities to swap supplies.

Thinking about dropping off craft supplies during the week? All crafting supplies must be in good condition (paper orgranized, markers in containers, yarn balled neatly, etc.)  We are limiting donations to two boxes each. Any other donations must be discussed with library staff prior to donation.

This program funded by the Friends of the Sharon Public Library.
