Have you ever just wanted to spend a whole day reading? What if you could read all day and have it be for a good cause, too?

On Tuesday, August 7th we’ll have an all-day Read-a-Thon starting at 10 am and ending when we close at 8:30 pm. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to get sponsors who will donate $5 for every hour you plan to read. Then all YOU have to do is show up here at the library and read whatever you want. We’ll serve lunch and dinner, and have snacks and drinks as well.

Money raised will go to the Friends of the Library and Reach Out and Read, a charity that helps underprivileged kids get access to free books.

Come into the library to pick up donation forms starting on Monday, July 23rd.  Checks can be made out to the Friends of the Swampscott Library.
