We'll be talking about the wacky and hilarious  " Mr. Tony is full of Baloney" by Gutman. It is part of the popular "My Wierd School" series. Come for Book Club FUN!!!

The kids picked for the following book club (in January) the "I Survived..." series by Lauren Tarshis. Kids can read any one of them, and then we'll compare. There's "I survived the sinking of the Titanic, 1912", "I survived Hurricane Katrina, 2005" and 7 others to choose from.

Details: We all read the same book or series, then chat about it. We always do an activity or game related to the book, and often get a bit silly! Snacks provided.  Copies available from the Children's room staff.  The club meets one Tuesday afternoon a month at 3:45. Open to all in gr. 2 and 3 who have read part of the book, or had it read to them.

For teens ages 12-17. New members welcome and there will be ice cream!

Supporting children with special needs at home and in the community can be extremely challenging for families. Unlike the school environment, everyday life doesn’t necessarily include structure, predictability and a knowledgeable/supportive community. Katy Shamitz, Founder & Director of Skills for Living, will be leading this workshop to provide useful strategies and resources for parents/guardians on ways to support their special needs child at home and in the community. Topics include successful strategies for activities of daily living, including building routines in the home, using visual supports and social stories, strategies for success in community outings, including teaching play/social skills and safety awareness.
