This program is offered by Thayer Public Library and One Life at a Time, a non-profit organization that offers free resources, services, training and placement assistance to those that are un- and under-employed.     Whether you are new to computers or just want to use them more effectively, this series of three sessions will get you on your way. Participants will learn how to navigate their way around an Internet Web page, use various ways to select options that are common to Web pages, cut and paste, enter search terms, and fill in on-line forms. Learn the basics of saving files and printing and find out what various types of software can do for you. There will be an introduction to the Internet and using Search Engines. Participants must have a basic familiarity with using a keyboard and mouse.

Registering for Session I signs you up for all 3 sessions: Wednesday:4/3, Thursday: 4/4, and Friday: 4/5.

Participants will design their very own sketchbook cover and then learn simple bookbinding techniques.

   6:00 PM  -  7:00 PM Teen Event: Comic and Manga Art Workshop  
    Teens ages 12-18 (grades 6-12) are invited for a FREE workshop on comics, manga, and cartooning led by artists and authors Veronica and Andy Fish. There will be an overview of the history of this artistic style, a hands-on drawing demonstration, and plenty of tips and techniques so participants can create their own comics and manga. Andy Fish is the author of several books on art, six graphic novels, and teaches workshops throughout New England.

Registration is required to attend this event, and is limited to teens ages 12-18 (grades 6-12).
