Cancelled - Dr. Gary Hylander discusses The Battle of the Bulge

Tuesday November 12, 2019
7:00 PM

This event will be rescheduled to a later date.   We are sorry for any inconvenience and look forward to hosting Dr. Hylander again soon.

Historian and lecturer Dr. Gary Hylander will discuss the epic World War II Battle of the Bulge.  This battle, in December 1944, marked the last German offensive of the war in Europe.  Over the objections of his generals, Hitler ordered a massive counter-attack against Allied forces in the area of the Ardennes Forest.  Hitler's plan was to split the Anglo-American front and to seek a negotiated peace in the West.  With over 19,000 Americans killed, the Battle of the Bulge was the largest and bloodiest battle experienced by American forces in all of World War II.

Registration is not necessary for this lecture; up to 60 adults and older teens (age 16 and up) will be accomodated on a first-to-arrive basis.  This program is provided with State Aid to Public Libraries funds.  Questions may be directed to Library Director Deborah Grimmett at 781-982-2139, or via email at ablib@ocln.org.
