Understanding the Opioid EpidemicWednesday March 18, 2020
6:30 PM until 8:30 PM
In an abundance of caution, and following the recommendations from leading health officials to encourage 'social distancing' to help reduce the transmission of Covid-19, the Attleboro Public Library is cancelling and/or postponing all group events and meetings indefinitely. The Library shall re-evaluate this decision moving forward based upon any new developments that occur over the next few weeks.
Join us for a screening of the one hour PBS documentary, Understanding the Opioid Epidemic, followed by a guided discussion. This film traces the causes behind the unprecedented growth in the use of prescription opioids and the devastating impact these drugs are having in virtually every part of America.
Discussion will be led by Jef Bratberg, PharmD, University of Rhode Island and Chair of the Attleboro Council on Substance Abuse Prevention; April Cabrera, Program Manager, Bristol County District Attorney's Office; and Carrie Ballou, Community Relations, Fuller Hospital.
Thanks to a generous donation from DisposeRX, free DisposeRx at-home medication disposal packets will be available at this event.
