Here is a bit of information about our performers

Duane Nickerson 5:15 - 6:15

Duane has shared his musical talents for his whole life. He started playing guitar (self-taught) at a very young age when his older brother bought him his first guitar at age nine. It wasn’t long before he picked up the musical talent to prefect his guitar picking style and his singing voice. His brother and he started playing music together at their church in Belfast, Maine. His brother started a band, called Country Mist, that band is still going strong some 40 years later! In the mid to late 70’s the famous Dick Stacey’s Country Jamboree TV show was a weekend home for the Nickerson duo Donnie & Duane. They shared the stage and backed up local musical performances. It wasn’t long before a record was produced under Mr. Dick Stacey and the Nickerson brothers toured all through Canada.

Duane received the Lenny Breau award through the local Country Music Academy for his particular guitar picking style. Many years of performing at special benefits, country musical Sunday events at local dance halls and weekend dances were and continue to be a fun experience.

In the early nineties, he had the privilege to travel to Las Vegas and perform with the band he is in, “Country Mist”. This trip was a trip of a lifetime for him as he was able to meet and play music with so many other musical artists. The band and members all came home with a variety of awards and trophies from this trip.

Duane is known for his huge variety and style of music he plays. He can play all the old time hymns, oldies, Elvis, 50’s, country & country rock. He also has fun when he entertains by changing his voice style to sound like a particular artist, IE: Ernest Tubbs, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash and many more! Once you hear his musical style, you will forever want to have him back again
