Honoring the Earth and our Environment Thru Art Making
This a free and hands-n workshop.
Who - High School and Adults
No ‘art’ experience needed
Limit 20 students, unlimited observers.
Participants will make a small 8x8 flag honoring the earth using a variety of mediums.
Kay Carter will lead this workshop. Participants will spend a short time looking at the ‘Close to Nature’ exhibit in the stairwell gallery and talk together about our connections to and concerns for the planet. The group will then take time to think a bit about how we can honor the Earth with their artwork.
There will be a variety of natural materials which participants can use to inform their flag. Suggestions on how to use them will also be available.
Each participant is encouraged to bring images from magazines for collage, scissors, crayons or colored markers.
When all of the flags are completed, we will string them together and hang them in the Library near the ‘Close to Nature’ exhibit.
