Virtual Intermediate Chess
We're starting an INTERMEDIATE class for those children who have previous chess experience. This more advanced class meets every other Tuesday (this is the alternative week from the beginner chess program). Class is limited to 15 children.
Kids in 1st through 5th grade are invited to join this virtual chess class taught by Chess Coach Joe for teamdigusa.com .
In this Intermediate level class, the students will learn about more advanced tactics/strategies along with openings and end game theory.
The professional chess coach from DIG USA will teach for half of the class and then the students will play each other on Chess.com for the second half of the class. The chess coach will watch the matches and analyse the students strengths and weaknesses so that the students know how to improve every game.
Students must create a Chess.com username prior to the start of class (no fee is required). To become more comfortable with Chess.com please view this video before our first class.
Registration for the event with a valid email address is required for each session. You will receive a ZOOM link with access to the class after registration.
Coach Joe Lessard was born in Springfield, MA and has played chess for most of his life. His current USCF Rating is 1524. Coach Joe graduated from Western New England University with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
