HOW AND WHY TO TELL YOUR LIFE STORYThursday June 1, 2023
6:30 PM
Presented by James R. (Bob) Hagerty, Staff Reporter of The Wall Street Journal and author.
You don't have to be famous to have stories worth preserving for family members, friends and descendants not yet born. James R. Hagerty, the Wall Street Journal's lead obituary writer, offers easy ways to collect and save those stories while you still can, in short or long form, through writing or recording. Hagerty will also introduce his new book, "Yours Truly," a guide to telling life stories, named by the Washington Post as one of 10 notable books published in December.
James R. (Bob) Hagerty, based in Pittsburgh, is the lead obituary writer for The Wall Street Journal. Over the past four decades, he has worked as a reporter, editor and bureau chief for the WSJ and the International Herald Tribune in Hong Kong, London, Brussels, Paris, Atlanta and New York. He is the author of "Yours Truly" (Kensington Citadel, December 2022) and "The Fateful History of Fannie Mae (History Press, 2012).
