An introduction to solar features visible on our nearest star, the Sun, and safe solar observing techniques, using both white-light and H-alpha solar filters. Additionally, we’ll discuss where to go and how to observe the upcoming October 14th, 2023 Partial Solar Eclipse and the April 8th, 2024 Total Solar Eclipse. Afterwards, weather permitting, the author will setup outdoors a small solar telescope so that the audience can safely observe the Sun and any solar features visible that day.
