Ground yourself in the present with this four-session introduction to mindfulness, beginning on January 10th and running on Thursday mornings for four consecutive weeks. This program will provide you with information and resources to cultivate present moment awareness in your own life. Each session will feature a different type of mindfulness meditation, and will include information, practice, and discussion. Optional text (copies available at the library) is Mindfulness for Beginners by Jon Kabat-Zinn. In the text, Kabat-Zinn defines mindfulness as “awareness, cultivated by paying attention in a sustained and particular way: on purpose, in the present moment, and non-judgementally.” This program is offered by Lesley University Mindfulness Studies master's degree candidate and library staff member Joanne Clingan. To register, please see program listing for January 10th.
Funding for this program is provided by the Howard Lang Trust
