4:00 PM until 5:00 PM

10 best Chess Games for Android Phones that you must try in 2018

Have TV shows like The Queen's Gambit gotten you interested in learning how to play chess, or you're just looking for something new to learn how to do in the cold winter months? Brentwood Library has partnered with Pittsburgh's own Queen's Gambit Chess Institute to provide free virtual beginner chess lessons for our younger patrons, from 3rd grade up through 8th! The class will take place weekly via Zoom on Thursdays starting on January 14th and running through April 22nd: the first half hour is devoted to instruction from a professional chess instructor, and the second to playing against the instructor or one another in the class to try your new skills! If you or your child are interested, please register by filling out the Google form at this link, and get ready to learn and have fun!
