GROW UP WITH GOOD NUTRITION- Food Truck Program (Families with Children)Wednesday June 5, 2019

REGISTRATION MUST BE DONE IN PERSON, OR BY CALLING THE CHILDREN'S DEPARTMENT.
The mission of the GROW! Program is to help alleviate child hunger in America through the provision of health education and food to children and their families at an early education setting. Connecticut Food Bank will partner with school programs serving families with limited resources twice a month for a 6-month period. During that time, Connecticut Food Bank will partner with various organizations to conduct 30-minute sessions covering topics such as: nutrition education, budgeting, fitness, cooking tips, and financial education. Participants will then be invited onto our custom truck to choose a variety of food products: shelf stable items, dairy, meat, bread and produce. All at no cost to the parent!
Household Commitment:
- Attend the sessions with a willingness to learn for the 6 months
- Bring own bags each time
- Try the recipes
- Eat as a family
- Share their story with others- possibly volunteer at other sites
