EventKeeper : Tell a Friend
Racial Justice TED Talk Viewing and Discussion

Thursday September 30, 2021
7:00 PM until 8:00 PM

Do you want to understand and take action on the social, economic and political issues we face today? If so, please join the Durham Public Library and the Middlefield-Durham Racial Justice Team for a film discussion facilitated by the Middlefield-Durham Racial Justice Team.

Join us to watch and discuss public policy expert Heather McGhee's TED Talk, "Racism Has a Cost for Everyone." From her research and travels across the US, she shares startling insights into how racism fuels bad policymaking and drains our economic potential -- and offers a crucial rethink on what we can do to create a more prosperous nation for all.

Heather McGhee designs and promotes solutions to inequality in America, showing what individuals, governments and the private sector can do to help the country live up to its ideals. She is the author of The Sum of Us: What Racism Costs Everyone and How We Can Prosper Together.

Discussion will take place via Zoom. This program is open to all and registration is required. A link to the Zoom meeting will be sent to registered participants no later than 4:00 p.m. on the day of the meeting.
