Awardees in Major Amateur Competitions to Perform

The first recital of the Winners Circle Piano Series, on April 13 at 2 pm, will feature Robert Finley and Andy Liao performing a diversity of composers, eras, forms, and styles—enhanced by brief discussions of the program pieces, as well as question-and-answer sessions.

Mr. Finley has won prizes in the Chopin Piano Amateur Competition (Warsaw, Poland), Yamaha and Pianist Magazine Amateur Piano Competition (Manchester, UK), the concerto competition at the Piano Texas Festival (Fort Worth), and the Piano Bridges Competition (St. Petersburg, Russia); he will be performing pieces by Bach, Chopin, Faure, and Rachmaninoff.

Mr. Liao, an awardee at both the Boston International Piano Competition and the Washington (DC) International Piano Competition, will be playing music by Scriabin, Debussy, Liszt, Rachmaninoff, and Ginastera.
