2020 is the year we look back on Eastham's Story - the Story of the 'First Encounter' between the English from the Mayflower and the Nauset people on December 8, 1620.
The Committee and the Library are planning programs which include:
? Exhibits (art, history)
? Music
? English and Native food
? A social media campaign
? A scavenger hunt
? Poetry or an essay contest
? A visiting replica of the Mayflower's shallop (small boat)
? A summer Sunset Storytelling Series at 1st Encounter Beach
? Book and history talks
? A multi-media exhibit "Our Story: 400 years of Wampanoag History"
? A film screening of the documentary "We Still Live Here: Âs Nutayuneân" with Director Anne Makepeace and representatives of the Mashpee Language Reclamation Project
? Assistance with genealogy
? Family history workshops
