Communal Vision ~ Building Today's Community

Sunday December 1, 2019
2:00 PM until 3:00 PM

Bradford's reasons and causes of removal to America; visions of the Native Americans; the "peaceable kingdom."  400 years into our experiment, as the heirs of this story, what are our common and competing visions for community to come? How can art continue to articulate and further our vision?

A team of experts will discuss conflicting viewpoints as expressed in art during the past 400 years, from the art of Native Peoples up to the present day. Moderated by Willow Shire, participants include Karen Kollar, artist and art educator; Alex Tureaud, artist, author and educator; and Napi Van Dereck, art collector and Provincetown historian.  This program is one of the library’s Eastham 400 Commemoration Events. Free and open to all.

Location: Greg Turner Room A & B
