A registered therapy dog and handler, trained in the Reading Education Assistance Dogs (R.E.A.D.)® program, will visit the East Granby Public Library to meet individually with young readers. 

Established in 1999, “R.E.A.D. is the first and foremost program utilizing the companionship of therapy animals to encourage children’s love of books and the reading environment.”

• We ask that readers wear masks for participation in this program. We ask for masking as social distancing isn't possible during this activity due to its interactive nature; and the dog's handler, though vaccinated, is at high medical risk. We ask for understanding and cooperation so that the program can continue.
• Due to limited space for this program, and as a courtesy to our volunteers who travel to run this program for us, we ask that you only register if you are fully committed to attending.
