Recycled Book Page Hedgehogs!Saturday November 7, 2020
3:00 PM until 4:00 PM
Join Miss Katie to make and design your own recycled book page mini hedgehog!
Grades 1 - 6. Younger children may need assistance from a parent or guardian.
This program takes place online. Please register to receive the Zoom link in an email. Please fill out one registration form per child.
When you register, please check off the box provided in the registration form if you intend to pick materials up from the library for the program, so we can reserve a bag for you. This helps us to know how many materials we need to buy / bags we need to prepare.
Most of the materials needed will be provided by the library. These will be available starting on Wednesday October 28th, either for curbside pickup or inside the children's department, during our hours. (9 - 3 Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday, 9 - 6 Tuesday, 9 - 2 Friday, and 9 - 12 Saturday.) If you are picking up curbside, please call the children’s department when you get there to let them know you’d like to pick up the materials, and they will place them outside for you.
Please gather the following additional materials from home and bring them with you:
Optional: Brown paint will be provided, but if you want to paint your hedgehog a different color, you can use any other color paint you’d like from home!
Optional: Glitter, paper, or anything else extra you would like to add!
If you are picking up materials at the library you will not need to gather the following items / do the following prep, as pre-prepped materials will be provided. However, if you are not able to pick up the materials at the library, you will additionally need:
An old book.
The help of a parent, guardian, or other adult to remove the cover of the book and cut it in preparation for the program. (The book segments that will be provided for pickup at the library will be pre-cut, so you will only need to do this cutting part / an adult’s help for this if you are using materials from home.) If you are planning on using materials from home, please email me at firstname.lastname@example.org, and I will send you the instructions for cutting the book in advance.
Optional: Paint to color in your hedgehog if desired.
Construction paper to make your hedgehog’s ears.
Construction paper or googly eyes to make your hedgehog’s eyes.
- Felt or construction paper to make your hedgehog’s nose.
