Cyber Safety: Protecting Children Online - For Parents and CaregiversFriday November 6, 2020
9:15 AM until 10:00 AM
Due to statewide COVID-19 regulations and municipal responses, distance learning is quickly becoming a popular method of education in many towns. Now, more than ever, children are spending time at home on electronic devices; many of which are totally exposed to the internet and all of its offerings – both good and bad.
In this presentation, you will discover alarming statistics that point to a reason for concern about the relative ease with which children can access objectively harmful content online. You will then learn skills that can be used to preserve your child's innocence and mitigate the potential for future social and psychological issues that result from accidental and purposeful early exposure to adult content on the web.
Numerous internet “lockdown” methods that are very easy to implement will be covered. There will be time for questions. Helpful resources and contact information will also be provided for one-on-one followup assistance.
