Teens Give Back: FCL Supports Sleep in Heavenly Peace this fall.  Join our charity drive for "The Great Give Back" where libraries across the country support local charities with the support of their patrons, (thegreatgiveback.org).  Fairmount Community LIbrary has chosen "Sleep in Heavenly Peace" as our designated charity for this fall.  Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a group of volunteers dedicated to building, assembling and delivering beds to children (ages 3-17) in need in the greater Syracuse area.(shpbeds.org/chapter/ny-syracuse). They are in need of sheets and bedding sets to be donated.  We are collecting twin-sized sheets from Oct 1st- Dec 31st at the library.  We are also collecting new stuffed animals, pillowcases, and loose change to give to Sleep in Heavenly Peace at the end of December. 

Join us on Thursday, October 20th, where we design quilt squares for PROJECT LINUS, using markers and special paper.  You and your tween / teen can design a colorful quilt square that will be made into a quilt and donated to Sleep in Heavenly Peace.  If you are unable to make this specific time, we have supplies located at the front circulation desk.  You can design a square when you visit the library between Oct 12th and December 31st.  We will have friendly therapy dogs there to keep us company while we work on this service project.
