Handbooks abound: Here, on Zoom, is guidance on nurturing an image, idea or story line by line into full-fledged poetry. Poet Zara Raab offers salient readings, as well as commentary and guidance, both formal and informal, for daring spirits who would try their hand at capturing a part of their lives in poetry and verse, whether it be the excitement of spring, a morning’s birdsong, the grief of loss, or the celebration of transformative events.
Zara Raab’s books include Swimming the Eel and Fracas & Asylum. Her book reviews and poems appear in small magazines and newspapers, including The Hudson Review. A member of the Powow River Poets, based in Newburyport, she recently earned an M.F.A. in poetry in Boston. She lives in Amesbury, Mass.
This is a 6 week class running from July 8 - August 12.
