Making Democracy Work: Town Hall presented by the League of Women Voters Lansing Area

Thursday February 13, 2020
6:00 PM until 8:00 PM

The League of Women Voters Lansing Area presents an informational “Town Hall”-style session on Michigan’s new voting rights (resulting from passage of Proposal 3), the Citizens Redistricting Commission (created by Proposal 2 to end gerrymandering), and the 2020 Census. The presentation will include a discussion of the 2020 Census, why we should participate and how it will be conducted; the Citizens Redistricting Commission, how it will be selected and function; and Michigan’s new Voting Rights, early voting, and expanded voter registration. This Town Hall is free and open to the public.  The League of Women Voters is a nonpartisan organization whose mission is to Empower Voters and Defend Democracy. The Town Hall is made possible by a grant from the League of Women Voters Education Fund.
