Sue Reich, Washington, CT resident and Quilts of Valor Foundation President, will deliver a talk and visual presentation highlighting the quilts made by this organization for the soldiers. Sue will share the mission of Quilts of Valor Foundation and showcase some of the extraordinary, artistic and intricate work done to help wounded warriors and veterans.
Quilts of Valor is a non-profit foundation whose goal is to cover ALL wounded service members with a freedom quilt, honoring them for their sacrifices. The movement, started in 2003 now spread across the United States and even has an international presence. Over 5,500 (this figure changes daily) of our men and women have died as a result of the war in Iraq and Afghanistan and almost 25 percent of the veterans returning home suffer from some type of physical or psychological wound.
