Morrie Louden Jazz DuoSunday October 14, 2018
1:30 PM until 2:30 PM
Upright bassist/singer, composer Morrie Louden will perform jazz standards with swing and Latin rhythms. Morrie will be accompanied by pianist Mike Eckroth.
Morrie Louden performs all over NY and elsewhere as a bandleader. He has developed different and unique ways of tapping rhythms on his bass while simultaneously playing bass lines and singing - a challenging technique that he has innovated over the years...When he was 12, he began to play the electric bass. A year later he added formal acoustic bass and piano studies. By age 14, band leaders of some of the best Bay area groups, where he was born, were hiring him to play. Morrie toured the world for many years with pop icons: Engelbert Humperdinck, Barbra Streisand, The 5th Dimension, and Paul Anka, to name just a few. These experiences led to performing with The New York Philharmonic, The Philadelphia Symphony Orchestra, and the London Symphony Orchestra at Royal Albert Hall.
