Alexander A. Wu is a Yamaha Piano Artist and Music Arranger, Millennium Chamber Symphony of NYC, Artistic Director and Co-Founder. He is equally at home performing classical music or jazz. In his second solo CD, he illustrates the links between these musical forms with beautifully chosen comparisons of pieces by a variety of composers from Bach, Chopin and Debussy to Gershwin, Ellington and Brubeck.
“Wu’s exuberant etudes on Gershwin songs sounded assured and settled…he is uncommonly attractive and entertaining” –The Washington Post Review
As a soloist, and with his chamber groups, Alex Wu has given numerous concerts in the US and abroad with performances at Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, Merkin Concert Hall, Bargemusic, Steinway Series at the Smithsonian, Mannes College, The New School, Bard College, Hofstra and City University of NY. His solo CDs, 'Bach to the Future' and 'Rhythm Road across the Americas' have received rave reviews for its adventurous music programming.
