The Triangle Shirtwaist factory fire the Greenwich Village section of NYC, on March 25,1911, burned and killed145 innocent hard working young women. It is considered one of the most infamous tragedies in American industrial history as these deaths were largely preventable. These victims died because of deplorable sweat shop conditions and neglected safety measures. Professors Ehrlich and Sackowitz will not only describe what happened that sad day but also will discuss the subsequent trial of the owners.
